The Premium Audit Reviewer is responsible for reviewing physical, virtual, mail and online audits on Property/Casualty Commercial Lines adjustable policies to establish appropriate classifications, exposures and basis of premium. This level reviewer works with minimal supervision on routine audits and may refer higher level accounts to management for assistance. The success of our company is rooted in teamwork, the way we care about the people we work with and service. This hybrid role will work in our Raleigh office a minimum of two days with the flexibility of remote work three days a week.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma, BA / BS in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Solid computer skills (MS Office)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Solid verbal and written skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Working knowledge of the NCCI and ISO manual rules as they relate to the classification and calculation of exposures to determine the appropriate premium for the coverages provided by the policies assigned to be audited

  • Prefer basic knowledge of general business, insurance principles, and accounting

Responsibilities

  • Review physical audit spreadsheets from company auditors and outside vendors to verify that proper classifications and rates are applied to the final audit bill
  • Complete audit, review and summarize mail information from insured to determine correct exposures for all classifications by reviewing federal and state part payroll reports, financial statements, and other payroll and sales reporting documents
  • Review dispute information received from agents or insureds who contest an audit billing, analyze the submitted information for relevance and appropriate documentation by interpreting financial statements, federal tax returns, general ledgers and vendor reports, quarterly reports and state unemployment records; deciding if submitted information is valid to warrant a revision, and communicating directly with insured and their representatives to resolve audit disputes and premium due company
  • Process audit information utilizing the policy administration system including monitoring and follow-up with internal departments to resolve system issues and errors to generate the final audit billing statement
  • Communicate with all internal and external customers regarding exposures, classification changes, or general auditing procedure questions pertaining to voluntary or physical audits with concerns that arise
  • Summarize and provide feedback to underwriters and agents outlining audit results obtained from interim or mid-term audits
  • Work collaboratively with all interdepartmental personnel
  • Provide support to the premium audit field staff as needed
