About The Position

The Refugee Case Manager provides comprehensive case management services to refugee and immigrant families as they begin rebuilding their lives in North and South Carolina. This role helps clients achieve self-sufficiency by assessing needs, identifying barriers, coordinating services, and connecting individuals and families with community resources. The Refugee Case Manager works closely with clients, community partners, volunteers, and fellow teammates to ensure successful integration and access to critical support services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent education and experience in the human services field may be considered.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, refugee communities, immigrants, or vulnerable populations preferred.
  • Knowledge of local community resources is preferred.
  • Multilingual skills are highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining detailed records and documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed and client-centered care practices.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.
  • Valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver's license.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally as needed.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, confidential, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive case management services.
  • Assess client needs and develop individualized service plans that promote self-sufficiency.
  • Coordinate services and referrals, including housing assistance, public benefits, education, transportation, healthcare, employment resources, and community orientation.
  • Assist with securing and preparing housing for arriving refugee families.
  • Coordinate transportation services, including airport arrivals and client appointments, as needed.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case documentation.
  • Develop and monitor client-related budgets and expenditures.
  • Collaborate with teammates, volunteers, interpreters, service providers, and community partners to support client success.
  • Assist clients with navigating community resources and accessing critical services.
  • Build positive relationships with clients while demonstrating compassion, professionalism, and cultural humility.
  • Ensure compliance with all program requirements, funding guidelines, and organizational policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
