About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Refrigeration Technician at the Dallas Plant. The technician will provide maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of ammonia refrigeration systems, HCFC systems, hot water, compressed air, and steam systems. The role requires the ability to safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment and to effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals. The facility operates six days a week and produces Pepperoni.

Requirements

  • Must have 6 months of experience in Refrigeration and/or education.
  • Must be able to safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all plant personnel.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be willing and able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be willing and able to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Must be willing and able to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend and stoop.
  • Must be willing and able to perform repetitive gripping, pushing and pulling.
  • Must be willing and able to perform frequent overhead work.
  • Must be willing and able to work in temperatures inside the plant that may vary from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees; outside work may also be needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding boiler theory, RETA Operator I, and IIAR Basic NH3 Refrigeration schematics will be required for this role.
  • Must be able to pass a HAZ-Mat physical and pass the training to be certified as an Emergency Responder Technician Level and participate on the Emergency Response Team.

Responsibilities

  • Performing and consulting on robust preventative maintenance and refrigeration repairs.
  • Expertly performing emergency mechanical or electrical repairs, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, pump, pressure, and hydraulic plant equipment.
  • Understanding boiler theory, RETA Operator I, and IIAR Basic NH3 Refrigeration schematics.
  • Passing a HAZ-Mat physical and training to be certified as an Emergency Responder Technician Level and participating on the Emergency Response Team.
  • Assisting and supporting the training and development of more junior Refrigeration Technicians.
  • Minimizing downtime due to equipment and system failure.
  • Basic math skills; percentages, fractions and measurements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
