About The Position

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic at Tyson Foods' Dallas plant is responsible for safely operating and performing a variety of maintenance activities, including corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance, on various computer/PLC controlled production equipment. This equipment includes machinery that uses compressed air, water, steam, gas, electrical, pumping, and control systems. The role requires applying knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment and effectively interacting with all plant personnel to achieve plant and individual goals. The facility operates six days a week and produces Pepperoni. Requirements

  • Must have 1 year of Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Experience
  • Must be able to understand technical and training manuals
  • Applicant must currently be forklift certified or able to get certified
  • Strong communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience, special training, and formal education in a mechanical capacity is preferred for this outlined position

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual maintenance plans and activities in a safe, proper and timely manner while constantly maintaining a high level of craftsmanship.
  • Assist in training of other plant personnel.
  • Utilize the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to assist in the development and the execution and follow-up on maintenance activities including but not limited to inspections, calibrations, repairs and rebuilds.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Use and maintain all tools properly.
  • With assistance develop ability to provide corrective actions to all levels of equipment/system failures utilizing root cause analysis and troubleshooting techniques.
  • With assistance demonstrate ability to utilize advanced maintenance techniques and tools such as thermo-graphic, ultrasonic and vibration analysis to assess the health of production equipment and predict failures before they occur.
  • Repair, modification and improvement of assigned production equipment with precision maintenance techniques as necessary.
  • Identify and/or corrects potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift.
  • Safely perform work, including adherence to Tyson Brands policies such as lock-out-tag-out (LOTO), hot work permit and confined space entry.
  • Works closely with Maintenance Supervisors and Maintenance Planners to develop opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the development of individual performance objectives.
  • Work cooperatively in a maintenance culture that is focused on continuous improvement (LEAN), positive morale and exceptional levels of customer service.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable Tyson Brands and governing agency policies by which we manage our business.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
