Job Description / Summary The Refrigeration & Plumbing Supervisor provides leadership for the daily operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the facility's refrigeration and plumbing systems. This role leads a team of skilled technicians, ensuring preventative maintenance programs are executed safely and effectively while supporting production reliability, food safety, and regulatory compliance. Success in this role requires balancing hands-on technical expertise with strong people leadership. The Refrigeration & Plumbing Supervisor develops technicians, drives accountability, leads troubleshooting efforts, and partners cross-functionally to improve equipment reliability and operational performance.

Requirements

2–3 years of supervisory experience in industrial refrigeration (ammonia/Freon) and plumbing.
Strong knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems.
RETA Certification or willingness to obtain with company support.
Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong leadership and coaching skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Technician-first, hands-on leadership approach.
Continuous improvement mindset with experience in Lean and 5S principles.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining accountability and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Supervise, coach, and develop refrigeration and plumbing technicians.
Plan, assign, and oversee preventative maintenance and corrective work orders.
Ensure compliance with company safety policies and food safety regulations.
Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis during equipment failures.
Coordinate daily work priorities and labor allocation.
Facilitate team meetings, performance discussions, and technical training.
Manage contractor and vendor relationships for refrigeration and plumbing projects.
Monitor department KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Develop and improve standard operating procedures and maintenance practices.
Support audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
Recommend capital improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
