About The Position

The Refrigeration & Plumbing Supervisor provides leadership for the daily operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the facility's refrigeration and plumbing systems. This role leads a team of skilled technicians, ensuring preventative maintenance programs are executed safely and effectively while supporting production reliability, food safety, and regulatory compliance. Success in this role requires balancing hands-on technical expertise with strong people leadership. The Refrigeration & Plumbing Supervisor develops technicians, drives accountability, leads troubleshooting efforts, and partners cross-functionally to improve equipment reliability and operational performance.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of supervisory experience in industrial refrigeration (ammonia/Freon) and plumbing.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems.
  • RETA Certification or willingness to obtain with company support.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Technician-first, hands-on leadership approach.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience in Lean and 5S principles.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining accountability and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop refrigeration and plumbing technicians.
  • Plan, assign, and oversee preventative maintenance and corrective work orders.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and food safety regulations.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis during equipment failures.
  • Coordinate daily work priorities and labor allocation.
  • Facilitate team meetings, performance discussions, and technical training.
  • Manage contractor and vendor relationships for refrigeration and plumbing projects.
  • Monitor department KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and improve standard operating procedures and maintenance practices.
  • Support audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Recommend capital improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
