About The Position

The Plumbing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing field installation activities on commercial construction projects, ensuring plumbing systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, code requirements, and company quality standards. This role provides leadership to plumbers, apprentices, and subcontractors while coordinating with project managers, superintendents, and other trades to maintain project schedules and deliver successful outcomes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 5+ years of commercial plumbing experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, piping installation, fixtures, equipment, and plumbing codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience supervising multiple crews and coordinating with subcontractors.
  • Proficient in construction scheduling and project coordination.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and meet project deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or trade school education preferred.
  • Journeyman Plumbing License preferred (where applicable).
  • Experience in healthcare, education, industrial, data center, or large commercial construction projects.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Experience with BIM coordination and prefabrication processes.
  • Familiarity with construction management software and digital project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of plumbing crews on commercial construction projects.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign work to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and project documents.
  • Ensure installations comply with local, state, and federal plumbing codes.
  • Coordinate work with project managers, general contractors, and other trades.
  • Monitor labor productivity, material usage, and job costs.
  • Conduct jobsite inspections to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project requirements.
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and installation challenges.
  • Train, mentor, and develop plumbers and apprentices.
  • Assist with manpower planning and workforce allocation.
  • Maintain accurate job documentation, progress reports, and daily logs.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide construction updates.
