Refrigeration Maintenance - Harvest/Processing
About The Position
This position is responsible for operating and maintaining refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson policies and procedures. General Mechanic positions may work in any department within the beef processing or harvest facility. Work takes place in cold, damp, hot, or humid environments, with temperatures ranging from 30°F to 105°F. Refrigeration maintenance crews work six days per week with two rotating days off; schedules include Sundays and some major holidays. Candidates must complete a facility tour before accepting a job offer. Former Tyson employees are subject to a 180-day rehire waiting period and a three-time rehire limit.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of ammonia refrigeration or boiler room experience.
- At least 12 months of mechanical work experience may be accepted in lieu of refrigeration experience.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach; climb stairs and ladders; and lift up to 100 pounds.
- Must complete a facility tour before accepting a job offer.
Nice To Haves
- Welding experience is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude.
