About The Position

This position is responsible for operating and maintaining refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson policies and procedures. General Mechanic positions may work in any department within Processing or Harvest at the beef processing facility. Refrigeration maintenance crews work six days per week with two rotating days off; schedules include Sundays and some major holidays. Candidates must take a facility tour before accepting a job offer. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of ammonia refrigeration or boiler room experience, or 12 months of mechanical work experience in lieu of refrigeration experience.
• Mechanical inclination.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach in all work areas.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Willingness and ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must take a facility tour before accepting a job offer.

Nice To Haves

• Welding experience is preferred.
