About The Position

Legacy Turkey is hiring a full-time, benefits-eligible Refrigeration/Boiler Tech for the third shift at its Melrose, Minnesota facility. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., with weekends as needed. The pay range is $24.00–$28.00 per hour.

The technician operates and maintains plant HVAC, boiler, refrigeration, air compressor, and hot water systems safely and efficiently, following applicable OSHA, EPA, UAR, and other agency requirements. The role includes completing preventive maintenance on time, troubleshooting and maintaining equipment, and working independently as well as with others. The employee must be able to participate on the Hazwoper team and pass an SCBA physical. A Minnesota Special High Pressure Boiler License is required, or must be obtained within six months of hiring if the candidate does not already have one.

The facility generally operates around 40°F, with some variation by process. As a harvesting facility, certain natural byproducts, such as blood or internal materials, may be visible. Work involves repetitive movements, standing on concrete floors for 8–10 hours, and lifting. Requirements

• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to pass an SCBA physical.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, as stated in the role details.
• Ability to work scheduled weekends and/or holidays.
• A Minnesota Special High Pressure Boiler License, or ability to obtain one within six months of hiring.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining ammonia equipment, air compressors, hot water systems, HVAC, and boiler-room equipment.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer and must not now or in the future require employer sponsorship for a work visa.

Nice To Haves

• Five years of experience working with and on refrigeration systems and equipment.
• Second- or First-Class Minnesota high-pressure boiler license.
• CIRA/CIRO certification.

Responsibilities
