About The Position

The Referral Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to Physicians and Nurses in accordance with established policies and procedures of McBride. This role involves updating referrals, obtaining authorization for future patient appointments, communicating with patients, staff, insurance companies, and other physician offices during the authorization process, and resolving problems related to this process.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Two years related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents and policy/procedure manuals
  • Ability to write professional correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office and other database systems
  • Ability to communicate professionally with clinical staff and physicians
  • Must be well organized with and maintaining attention to detail
