About The Position

The Referral Coordinator serves as an important liaison between clinics and doctors while upholding a patient-centered and service-oriented approach. This role is responsible for the development and growth of the practice via referrals.

Requirements

Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office or clinic required.
Strong organization and prioritization skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Customer service skills
Experience in Microsoft Suite products: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Self-starter with ability to work independently.
High school diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

Experience using NextGen and ModMed is preferred
Prior experience in referral coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

Establishes and fosters relationships with all optometric and other referring physicians.
Coordinates with the medical staff within the practice to ensure proper communication and follow-up with referring physicians.
Communicate with all team members to ensure good working relationship between our physicians and all referring physicians.
Maintains a database with pertinent information regarding referral sources of the practice and referral patterns of each individual referring physicians.
Correspond with patient’s web portal inquires.
Process incoming referrals for area of responsibility.
Schedules all appointments with the appropriate physician and clinic to ensure top quality care to patients.
Reviews the schedule status daily for the remainder of the week and the following two weeks.
Research complex issues across multiple databases and work with support resources to resolve patient issue.
Performs other duties as needed or required.
