About The Position
Sentara Health is currently seeking a full-time remote - Referral Coordinator! This position is remote, but requires the candidate to be located near Sentara Independence in Virginia Beach or Hampton Roads area. The candidate must be able to travel on-site for training, connectivity issues, or meetings. The Referral Coordinator provides a direct link between patients, primary care providers, specialty providers, and insurance companies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
- 1 year of Health Insurance Plans experience REQUIRED
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payers.
- Proficient in use of computers and excellent organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a high-volume call center preferred
- Medical terminology preferred.
- One year of experience with insurance verification/referral processing preferred.
- Knowledge of EPIC preferred.
