About The Position

McMan is a not-for-profit agency that has been operating since 1975, providing a range of comprehensive programs across Alberta. The Family Resource Network (FRN) in Red Deer is seeking a Full-Time Permanent Referral and Navigation Worker. The FRN is funded by The Ministry of Children and Family Services and offers evidence-based services to Alberta families with children aged 0-18 and youth up to age 24. These services include child development, well-being support, caregiver capacity building, and social connections.

Requirements

At minimum a post secondary diploma related to human services from an approved institution
1-year of frontline human services work or community navigation work
Proof of Membership in Professional Association (when applicable)
Experience in community connection and system navigation
Strong communication and organizational skills
Basic First Aid Level C with Adult, Child, and infant CPR & AED
Suicide Intervention Training & De-Escalation Training
Intervention Record & Criminal Record Check with the vulnerable sector
Class 5 driver’s license, clean drivers abstract and reliable vehicle for occasional client transportation

Responsibilities

Perform thorough intake, screening, and assessment duties
Proactively support children, youth, and families in accessing appropriate resources across community networks
Monitor and document client progress and maintain accurate case notes
Collaborate with community partners through regular attendance at interagency and other community meetings
Oversee website administration and social media communications
Promote visibility, accessibility, and responsiveness in rural and remote communities
