Reefer Tchnician
About The Position
This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and repairs on all fleet equipment. The technician will troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and repair diesel reefer equipment, including THERMO KING & CARRIER TRAILER REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS and Reefer Microprocessors. The position involves performing preventative maintenance according to manufacturer standards, mentoring other maintenance personnel, handling road calls, and documenting repairs and parts used in the fleet maintenance software system. A clean and safe work environment must be maintained in compliance with all relevant regulations. The role also requires a willingness to assume increased responsibility and obtain additional certifications.
Requirements
- Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician.
- TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications.
- Must be willing to travel and attend training provided by US Foods.
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to reefer equipment repairs.
- Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must furnish own personal hand tools.
- Ability to read and understand technical and online service manuals.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA & DOT regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet.
- Computer and software experience/ Noregon Diag Equip/A/C Recovery, Etc.
- Able to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment.
- Welding ability
- Valid Class A CDL license and DOT certification
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel reefer equipment (THERMO KING & CARRIER TRAILER REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS, Reefer Microprocessors, etc.).
- Perform preventative maintenance within manufacturer standards.
- Mentor other maintenance shop personnel.
- Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action.
- Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
- Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
