About The Position

The Recycling Specialist collects, verifies, loads, unloads, and empties recyclable beverage containers, and bales aluminum and PET containers for recycling. The role follows a scheduled route to designated redemption centers, then unloads and processes materials at the Company's recycling location. The position works primarily driving to and from customer accounts and includes exposure to varying indoor and outdoor temperatures, as well as operation of can/PET baling equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A commercial driver's license.
• Valid pallet jack and/or forklift certification, as needed.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to safely operate all material-handling equipment.
• Consistent adherence to all safety procedures and guidelines.
• Working knowledge of applicable DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Drive to designated redemption centers along the scheduled route to collect recyclable materials.
• Count and verify collected materials (bags) and provide reimbursement documentation to redemption centers.
• Unload recyclable materials at the Company's recycling location.
• Sort and separate materials into appropriate containers for recycling.
• Bale aluminum cans and PET materials.
• Clean and maintain the interior and exterior areas of the recycling shed.
• Meet established productivity requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
