About The Position

Waste Connections is seeking a skilled, dependable Equipment Operator for its Albuquerque recycling plant. The operator primarily operates a front-end loader and may occasionally operate a forklift, baler, trucks, and smaller equipment to support efficient daily recycling operations. The role involves handling recyclables and other materials, inspecting equipment, and assisting customers and employees as needed. Work is scheduled for four 12-hour shifts per week, Monday through Friday with one weekday off, Sundays off, and rotating Saturdays. The listed start time is 5:00 AM, with the schedule ending at 4:30 PM. Compensation is $20.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

Proven experience operating forklifts and balers.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Operate a front-end loader as the primary equipment.
Occasionally operate a forklift, baler, trucks, and other machinery or smaller equipment.
Support daily operations and efficient recycling processes.
Push recyclables onto an incline belt.
Load recyclable materials into a hopper.
Load and dump trucks and open-top trailers.
Push up piles of yard debris and rubble.
Inspect equipment.
Assist customers and employees as needed.
