About The Position

Waste Connections is seeking a skilled and dependable Equipment Operator for its Albuquerque recycling plant. The operator primarily uses a front-end loader and may occasionally operate a forklift, baler, trucks, and smaller equipment. The role supports daily recycling operations and involves working in all weather conditions. The schedule is four 12-hour shifts per week, with workdays Monday through Friday and one weekday off, Sundays off, and rotating Saturdays. The stated start time is 5:00 AM, with the schedule ending at 4:30 PM. Compensation is $20.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on experience. Applicants must complete an application and pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Requirements

Proven experience operating forklifts and balers.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Operate a front-end loader as the primary equipment.
Occasionally operate a forklift, baler, trucks, and other machinery or smaller equipment.
Support daily operations to ensure efficient recycling processes.
Push recyclables onto an incline belt.
Load recyclable materials into a hopper.
Load dump trucks and open-top trailers.
Push up piles of yard debris and rubble.
Inspect equipment.
Assist customers and employees as needed.
