About The Position

Institute on Aging (IOA) is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to join its growing Home Care team in the Bay Area. IOA is at the forefront of revolutionary healthcare models, aiming to reshape how people age in place and enhance the quality of life for aging adults and adults with disabilities. The organization offers over 23 programs to support seniors' health, well-being, independence, and community participation. The Sourcing Specialist will focus on identifying, engaging, and screening qualified Home Care Aides, guiding them through pre-employment steps, and ensuring a positive initial experience with the Support at Home, Home Care Team. Requirements

  • Experience sourcing or recruiting hourly healthcare, caregiving, or service-industry talent.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, metrics-driven recruiting or sourcing environment.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and candidate documentation processes.
  • Ability to conduct structured candidate screens and assess basic qualifications.
  • Strong candidate communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain organization and manage multiple candidates simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced recruiting environment.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Bay Area for community outreach, recruiting events, and job fairs as needed.
  • Onsite and community presence required as needed, averaging approximately twice per week.
  • BA/BS degree or relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build a strong pipeline of qualified Home Care Aide candidates through proactive sourcing, screening, and engagement.
  • Support candidates through the pre-employment process, including background checks, fingerprinting, TB testing, and physical exams.
  • Ensure a smooth handoff of qualified candidates to the recruitment team for interviews and hiring decisions.
  • Source, identify, and engage qualified Home Care Aide candidates through various channels including job boards, outreach, referrals, community partnerships, and ticketing systems.
  • Conduct outreach to candidates entering the pipeline through inbound lead channels.
  • Monitor job postings to ensure visibility and competitiveness.
  • Participate in community outreach efforts, caregiver hiring events, and job fairs.
  • Assist with special recruiting initiatives or hiring campaigns.
  • Conduct initial candidate screenings to assess qualifications, availability, communication skills, and role alignment.
  • Conduct interviews (including onsite) to further assess candidate fit and readiness.
  • Provide candidates with a clear overview of the role, hiring process, and expectations.
  • Partner with recruiters/hiring managers to pass along qualified candidates.
  • Guide candidates through all required pre-employment screenings and documentation after an offer is made.
  • Gather pre-onboarding documentation and ensure candidate preparedness for their first day and New Hire Orientation.
  • Provide basic guidance on the HCA/Guardian registration process.
  • Maintain consistent and timely communication with candidates to ensure a positive experience.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and pipeline tracking within applicant tracking systems and internal systems.
  • Track sourcing activity and performance metrics, including outreach volume, screenings, qualified candidate submissions, and onboarding readiness.
