About The Position

The Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center (BMNTC) is seeking a full-time Recreational Therapy Supervisor. This leadership position is responsible for improving residents' quality of life through thorough assessment, personalized planning, and evidence-based recreational therapy services. The supervisor will assess residents' leisure preferences and quality-of-life needs, create and evaluate individualized care plans, and determine appropriate services according to professional recreational therapy standards. This role involves supervising and managing a multidisciplinary Life Enrichment team, including five Life Enrichment Specialists, two Recreational Therapists, and one Creative Expressive Arts Therapist. The supervisor will provide staff with the necessary training, guidance, and resources to offer creative, person-centered programming that supports each resident's goals, abilities, and interests.

Requirements

Licensed to practice Recreational Therapy by the North Carolina Board of Recreational Therapy Licensure.
Two years of experience as a Recreational Therapist.

Nice To Haves

Demonstrated experience using creativity and person-centered approaches to adapt activities for residents with developmental and intellectual disabilities, dementia, and or other neurocognitive disorders.
Experience working as a direct supervisor for a team providing quality of life activities.
Considerable knowledge of Therapeutic Recreation principles, philosophies, assessments, techniques and methods.
Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring activities and programs ensuring they are person-centered and produce effective outcomes.
Master’s Degree in Recreational Therapy or related field.

Responsibilities
