About The Position

Broughton Hospital is accepting applications for a Licensed Recreational Therapist (LRT) to join our Recreational Therapy team. The LRT is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational therapy services. Key duties include conducting comprehensive assessments, identifying individualized goals, and providing group and one-on-one interventions. The LRT documents patient responses, progress, and behavioral observations and contributes to treatment planning as part of an interdisciplinary team. This role also supports patients in recognizing barriers, interests, and strategies for successful community involvement after discharge.

Requirements

Licensed to practice recreational therapy by the North Carolina Board of Recreational Therapy Licensure.

Nice To Haves

Thorough knowledge of the APIE process
Previous psychiatric experience or having completed an internship in a psychiatric setting.
Degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Applied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) through the Committee on Accreditation for Recreational Therapy Education (CARTE).
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Bending and stooping
Ability to work indoors and outdoors
Must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
