About The Position

Broughton Hospital is currently accepting applications for a full-time Housekeeping Supervisor II. This position works Monday - Friday 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM. The primary purpose of this position is to provide supervision of assigned Housekeepers on 1st shift. This position is needed to ensure that the quantity and quality of work performed adheres to established standards and that work assignments are adjusted to meet requirements for the provision of services in the designated area(s).

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of experience in the area assigned, including one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Selected applicants must be able to pass a State Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Check, and complete and pass BLS/CPR Training and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training during orientation.
  • This position is designated "mandatory" and must report or stay over during adverse weather events and/or other emergencies.

Nice To Haves

  • Must be able to follow both written and oral instructions and have basic computer skills.
  • Must be physically able to lift, stoop, bend and move from side to side.
  • Must possess thorough knowledge of cleaning procedures, products and equipment
  • Previous housekeeping experience, including supervisory experience in a hospital setting
  • Must be knowledgeable of product sections, use, and safety

Responsibilities

  • Checks presence/absence of group members as they report to duty.
  • Makes job assignments to provide adequate coverage for provision of services.
  • Checks employee, services provided and assigned work area to assure quality of work, timeliness of services, adequacy of supplies and equipment, and safety hazards or faulty equipment.
  • Completes housekeeping duties to ensure all areas in the hospital are covered.
  • Confers with other Hospital staff to assess need to alter work schedule as may be determined by the needs of the hospital.
  • Recommends probationary employees for permanent status as appropriate.
  • Makes note of needed repairs/deficiencies and reports them to the Environmental Services Office.
  • Develops plan of action to correct assigned employees work performance and personal conduct deficiencies.
  • Authorizes leave requests by assigned Housekeepers.
  • Initiates disciplinary action as necessary for work performance and conduct deficiencies.
  • Maintains supplies in assigned area(s) through use of the NC Accounting System (NCAS).
  • Communicates daily with Environmental Services Director.
