About The Position

Broughton Hospital (BH) is currently accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance/Construction Supervisor II. This position supervises the Carpentry Supervisor, Paint Supervisor and provides overall management and oversight of the following trade groups: Carpentry Department, which includes Interior Components comprised of Tile, Drywall and Plastering and the Paint Department. The work involves planning, scheduling, and seeing to completion tasks associated with these trades in a hospital environment. Planning involves building code review and coordinating with hospital administration as well as other trade groups. Ability to interpret building and mechanical layout plans, blueprints, schematics and specifications is a necessity. Scheduling will require an understanding of labor and manhours needed to successfully complete tasks. Must possess ability to thoroughly review the quality of completed repairs, construction and/or maintenance work ensuring accurate, efficient and effective resolve.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four (4) years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction including experience in at least three (3) building or mechanical trades.
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience in construction, maintenance and/or repair of buildings and facilities.
  • Valid NC Driver's License.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in temperatures over 85 degrees for more than 30 minutes.
  • Must be able to pass a respirator fit test.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the Carpentry Supervisor and Paint Supervisor.
  • Provides overall management and oversight of the Carpentry Department (including Tile, Drywall, and Plastering) and the Paint Department.
  • Plans, schedules, and oversees completion of tasks for carpentry and painting trades in a hospital environment.
  • Reviews building codes and coordinates with hospital administration and other trade groups.

  • Schedules tasks considering labor and manhours required for successful completion.
  • Reviews the quality of completed repairs, construction, and maintenance work to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
