About The Position

The Recreational Activities Coordinator plans and leads activities that support patients’ well-being, purpose, and healing in an inpatient setting. The role involves working under the Director of Clinical Services and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, families, and coordinators to support patient treatment. The position is described as weekends/PRN.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Any required Missouri state certifications.
• At least one year of experience in therapeutic recreation within a psychiatric setting.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and assist with moving patients.
• Calm, resilient approach to stressful situations or challenging behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead activities during days, evenings, and holidays to support patient well-being.
• Connect with patients individually and in groups while monitoring their safety and health.
• Complete initial patient assessments within 72 hours of admission and maintain accurate progress notes.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, families, and coordinators to support patient treatment.
• Order and care for activities supplies and equipment.
