About The Position

Cedar Hills Hospital is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Recreational Therapist to plan and implement activity services for an assigned program. The role involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.

Cedar Hills Hospital is a behavioral health hospital and outpatient services program serving adults experiencing acute behavioral health crises related to mental health, substance abuse, substance use disorder, and co-occurring disorders. Its programs aim to provide lasting mental health rehabilitation and help re-establish a high quality of life.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in occupational, art, music, or recreational therapy, social work, or a related therapeutic discipline.
• One year of related experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness are preferred.
• A substance abuse certificate and/or state licensure is preferred.
