About The Position

The Village of Sandalwood Park has an exciting opportunity for an Unscheduled Part-time Recreation aide to join their team. This is a permanent, unscheduled part-time position located at 425 Great Lakes Drive, Brampton ON. L6R 2W8. The hiring rate for this role is $22.78 per collective agreement/employee association agreement. Requirements

  • Be enrolled in/completed diploma or degree recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
  • Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Foster exemplary relationships with residents, their families and the Village team to deliver holistic care that focusses on flexible living and quality of life

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s well-being and holistic health
  • An understanding of the relevant sections of the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007
