About The Position

The Community Programs team of the Provo City Recreation division is looking for high-performing, adaptable individuals to fill the part-time role of Recreation Instructor in various formats. Qualified, civic-minded Individuals interested in supporting the services provided to Provo City citizens by performing the duties described herein are invited to apply.

Requirements

• Sufficient knowledge of the format in which you are applying to teach (i.e. computer science, language, martial arts, cooking, art, music, etc.).
• Physical ability required to perform the duties of the job.
• Must meet minimum qualifications to be eligible for consideration.
• Must successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check if selected for hire.

Nice To Haves

• Previous instructing experience.
• Experience working with youth.
• Interest in and ability to deliver multiple class options.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging recreation program curriculum.
• Promote and market course(s) to the public.
• Provide energetic classes and instruct students of varying levels.
• Set up and take down materials for students.
• Track attendance.
• Evaluate program success for future modification and improvement.
• Assist recreation staff as needed and perform other related duties as required.
