Recreation/Music Therapist - PRN

Salt Lake Behavioral Health is seeking a dynamic and talented PRN Certified Therapeutic/Music Recreation Specialist. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Recreational Therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of related experience, knowledge and understanding of psychiatric patient care techniques and mental illness preferred.
- Current national certification (CTRS) through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification required.
- Current license (TRS) through Utah Department of Professional Licensing required.
- CPR certification is required.
- Successfully complete our current training for restraints and seclusions within 90 days of employment.

- Knowledge and understanding of psychiatric patient care techniques and mental illness preferred.
Responsibilities
- Planning and implementing therapeutic and evidence-based Recreational Therapy services at Salt Lake Behavioral Health in order to meet the physical, cognitive, emotional, social and cultural needs of patients.
- Defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Supporting patients in their mental health journey.
- Building a strong therapeutic alliance through empathetic and continuous patient care, observation, interaction and role modeling to patients.
- Conducting assessments.
- Facilitating RT group interventions.
- Documenting progress.
- Discharge planning for assigned patients.
