About The Position

This position is responsible for the organization and leadership of a variety of recreation activities including, but not limited to, scheduling activities and Day Camp programs. The role involves organizing, promoting, teaching, and conducting diverse recreational activities such as arts and crafts, sports, music, dance, drama, nature study, and special events. Additionally, the position assists in the organization and direction of tournaments, shows, socials, exhibits, festivals, and special events. The Recreation Leader I supervises assigned functional areas within the center and coordinates and assists in conducting organizational and county-wide events. A key aspect of the role is planning a variety of activities that cater to different age groups and skill levels.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Georgia drivers' license.
• Six months of related experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children of all ages.
• First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, promotes, teaches and conducts a variety of recreation activities, such as arts and crafts, sports and games, music, dance, drama, nature study, and special events.
• Assists in organizing, promoting, and directing tournaments, shows, socials exhibits, festivals, and special events.
• Supervises an assigned functional area of the center, such as gymnasium, athletic field, game room, crafts room, etc.
• Coordinates and assists in conducting organizational and county-wide events.
• Plans a variety of activities catering to different age groups and varying degrees of participant skills.
• Employees in this classification may be expected to perform any related duties as required by proper authority.
