About The Position

The recreation leader will perform a variety of duties related to the operation of Parks and Recreation programs and facilities. This position works under the supervision of the Recreation Manager and/or the Recreation Supervisor and Preschool Youth Programmer. Responsibilities may include assisting with daily setup and end-of-the-day clean-up, working cooperatively with other staff members, and assisting with the implementation of games, activities, and projects for campers daily. This position may also support other recreation programs such as special events and other activities and programs that the department sponsors, which may require working split shifts, evenings, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Outgoing, energetic, creative, organized.
Some experience working with children ages 3-11.
Strong understanding of customer service.
Committed to working the entire summer (June 15th - August 14th).
Available for training the 2nd week of June (June 8-12, dates and times TBD).
Must successfully pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

First Aid and CPR certified preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in the planning of weekly lesson plans.
Help with organization and leadership of program activities.
Supervise youth and present positive role modeling with participant interactions.
Communicate with Pullman Parks & Recreation staff, parents, and participants.
Provide guidance, motivation, and support to all participants.
Complete administrative paperwork as needed.
Attend all meetings and trainings.
Assist with daily setup and end-of-the-day clean-up.
Work cooperatively with other staff members.
Assist with the implementation of games, activities, and projects for campers daily.
Support other recreation programs such as special events and other activities and programs that the department sponsors.
