About The Position

The purpose of this classification is to plan, organize, and conduct a wide variety of recreational activities and events for the leisure and enjoyment of the public. This role involves leading, evaluating, and assigning staff, resolving employee concerns, opening and closing the facility, and supervising its cleanliness. The leader provides exceptional service through youth and adult programs, meeting the diverse needs and interests of individuals through innovative programming. Responsibilities also include enforcing policies, preparing reports, developing and overseeing the yearly budget, authorizing fees and revenue transactions, conducting interviews, managing hiring and transfers, organizing and scheduling programs, submitting training reports, establishing work priorities, planning and organizing surveys, and implementing/evaluating employee programs. Additionally, the role involves recruiting program participants and volunteers, instituting a Booster Club to support programs, and hosting annual special events to engage the community.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Two years of experience in recreation programming
  • Possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license
