Your role as a Recreation Center Associate II As a Part Time Recreation Center Associate II in Cortez, you'll play a crucial role in the daily operations of the Cortez Recreation Center. This multifaceted position involves supporting various programming initiatives while ensuring the smooth operation of facilities such as the gymnasium, fitness area, walking track, and racquetball courts. You'll be instrumental in maintaining the cleanliness of meeting rooms and locker rooms, while also assisting at the front desk and aquatic center as needed. Unlike the Recreation Center Associate I, this position includes added responsibilities in supporting customer service operations and contributing to program development. Your efforts will directly enhance the recreational experiences of community members, making it a rewarding opportunity for those who thrive in a dynamic and community-focused environment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to provide outstanding customer service
  • be friendly and helpful.
  • Must be able to assist cleaning various facilities within the Recreation Center.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with the public and co-workers.
  • Must have knowledge of City activities.
  • Must be safety-minded and willing to address unsafe situations reacting promptly.
  • Must be able to lift and move spin bikes, tables, and chairs repetitively.
  • Must be able to learn how to operate facilities within the Recreation Center including fitness equipment, rock wall auto-belays, the gymnasium divider screen, and how to set up and use various sports equipment.
  • Must be able to utilize computer software and hardware, and learn recreation center database software.
  • Must understand program development and implementation principles.
  • Must acquire First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 90 days of employment.
