About The Position

Islander Resort is seeking an energetic, experienced, hands-on Recreation Attendant (described in the posting as an Activities Associate) to join its team. The role focuses on providing personalized guest service and helping guests enjoy resort activities, while supporting a safe, clean, and welcoming recreational environment. The attendant leads and assists with scheduled activities, helps develop new experiences aligned with the resort’s luxury standards and wellness culture, and collaborates across departments to provide seamless guest experiences.

The position requires at least one year of experience in hospitality, recreation, or customer service, preferably in a luxury resort setting. Candidates should be comfortable engaging groups of guests of all ages, have strong English communication skills, and be eager to learn about wellness, fitness, events, and outdoor activities. Basic first aid and CPR certification is required, or the willingness to obtain it. The role involves flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and requires physical activity such as lifting equipment and setting up activity spaces. This position is tipped eligible.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in hospitality, recreation, or customer service; luxury resort experience is preferred.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Comfort speaking to groups, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate individual needs.
• Ability to lead and engage guests of all ages in activities with enthusiasm, knowledge, and professionalism.
• Basic first aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Physical ability to lift equipment, set up activity spaces, and remain active throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized service to guests and help ensure an enjoyable, seamless experience with resort activities.
• Lead and assist with scheduled activities, including outdoor sports, fitness classes, children’s programs, wellness experiences, and cultural events.
• Monitor recreational areas, follow safety procedures, and assist guests as needed to maintain a safe environment.
• Maintain the cleanliness, storage, and readiness of recreation areas, pools, equipment, and activity centers in indoor and outdoor spaces.
• Assist in creating new recreational experiences that align with the resort’s luxury standards and wellness culture.
• Collaborate daily with other departments to help ensure seamless guest experiences.
