About The Position

The Recreation Attendant assists the Recreation Lead in planning, organizing, executing, and leading campground activities, including arts and crafts, games, sports, dramatics, music, social activities, hobbies, and themed weekends. This highly visible, customer-centric role calls for strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Work takes place indoors and outdoors and may involve changing weather, moderate to loud noise, and exposure to dust, pollen, grasses, landscaping, chemicals, and moving mechanical equipment. The role may involve interruptions and shifting priorities, and personal protective equipment is required where necessary. The position requires working nights, weekends, and holidays. A valid driver's license is required, and the attendant may be expected to drive a motorized vehicle. KOA does not sponsor visas and currently does not pay or withhold taxes in certain listed states.

Requirements

Hear and converse in English.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to manage conflict.
Basic working knowledge of recreational activities.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Motivated, goal-oriented, and results-driven.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Valid driver's license.
Able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds regularly and lift or carry up to 25 pounds or more occasionally with assistance.
Able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, push, pull, reach overhead, and move safely over uneven terrain.
Able to perform repetitive motions and stand, bend, sit, lift, and walk.

Responsibilities

Facilitate event preparations from start to finish.
Assist in creating a detailed events calendar that supports the campground and guests of all age ranges.
Create supply lists and provide them to the Recreation Lead as needed.
Take pictures of activities and obtain necessary photo release documentation for all individuals in photos.
Prepare engaging social media posts in coordination with the marketing department.
Coordinate and prepare food and beverages, equipment, awards, and entertainment as needed for events.
Maintain and clean recreation equipment and facilities.
Welcome new arrivals to activities, introduce them to other participants, explain rules, and encourage participation.
Explain activity rules and instruct participants with a range of skill levels.
Enforce safety rules to prevent injury.
Modify activities to meet the needs of specific groups.
Administer basic first aid if needed and notify emergency medical personnel when necessary.
Clean, set up, and break down equipment used in recreational activities daily.
Maintain professionalism, customer service, quality, and cleanliness while promoting a fun atmosphere.
Maintain health standards and help ensure guests and team members are in a safe and secure environment.
