About The Position
The Recreation Attendant helps oversee functions of the Recreation Department at The Grove Resort & Water Park, including the Activities Center, daily events, Pool Attendants, Lifeguards, Lake Austin Pier, and Water Park. The role monitors recreational areas and supports guest safety, maintains recreation facilities and equipment, and provides helpful information to guests. Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, including in varied weather conditions.
Requirements
- Previous hotel or resort recreation background.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, including outside in all weather conditions and inclement weather.
- CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications.
Responsibilities
- Monitor guests in recreational areas and provide constant surveillance of pool areas to ensure guest safety.
- Act as a first responder to emergency situations in recreational areas.
- Enforce policies, rules, and regulations at Recreation locations.
- Stand for extended periods while monitoring the pool, lazy river, and pier area.
- Clear used towels, lifejackets, and trash from the Water Park and pool area.
- Maintain and exchange used and clean towel bins.
- Address guest needs by answering questions and providing directions and information about the resort or surrounding areas.
- Maintain the overall upkeep of cabanas.
