About The Position

The Recreation Attendant supports one or more Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) recreational programs, such as community center activities, youth activities, outdoor recreation, craft and hobby shops, athletics, fitness and sports, music, theater, or similar services. The role oversees activities and related services for authorized patrons, provides information about facilities and operations, and explains equipment use. The attendant helps ensure compliance with regulations and safety procedures and monitors premises security. Duties may also include routine reports, clerical work, custodial or general maintenance tasks, and operating a cash register or handling payments.

Requirements

Ability to learn MCCS policies, rules, and regulations related to the assigned area.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Knowledge of basic mathematics.
Ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and objects over 45 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

Six months of experience in the assigned recreational activity is desired.

Responsibilities

Oversee recreational activities and provide necessary services to authorized patrons.
Provide general information about equipment, facilities, and operations.
Ensure adherence to regulations and safety procedures, and monitor the security of premises.
Assist with routine reports and perform clerical, custodial, or general maintenance duties as needed.
Operate a cash register, receive payments, and make change when required.
Provide courteous, friendly customer service and take action to resolve problems quickly.
Alert a higher-level supervisor or appropriate point of contact when problems arise.
Follow safety standards and promptly report workplace hazards, injuries, occupational illnesses, and property damage.
Support EEO principles and the prevention of sexual harassment.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
