About The Position

This is a part-time position with 25 hours per week. The Recreation Assistant will assist in planning, organizing, and implementing activities and programs for residents in an assisted living facility. The role involves engaging residents in recreational therapy and social activities to promote their well-being, collaborating with staff, maintaining records, providing companionship, and assisting with transportation.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure smooth coordination of activities.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with older adults.
• Must be able to pass a background check according to company policies.

Nice To Haves

• Experience or knowledge in aging issues counseling, social work, or senior care is preferred.
• Familiarity with assisted living or memory care environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing activities and programs for residents in an assisted living facility.
• Provide support and assistance to residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.
• Engage residents in recreational therapy and social activities to promote their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate with the activity director and other staff members to develop and implement a variety of engaging programs and events.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress in activities.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
• Assist with transportation of residents to off-site activities or appointments as necessary.
