Recreation Aide - Heather Heights
About The Position
Heather Heights is hiring a Recreation Aide for either a full-time schedule of 30 hours or a part-time schedule of 20 hours. The role includes working every other weekend. The Recreation Aide interacts with residents respectfully and empathetically, taking their needs and limitations into account, and plans and leads activities suited to a broad range of interests and abilities. Activities may include arts and crafts, games, exercise programs, music sessions, outings, holidays, and special events. The aide encourages residents’ participation and social interaction, monitors engagement and outcomes, and provides individualized attention and planning based on residents’ needs and interests, while honoring their requests.

Responsibilities
- Interact with residents respectfully and empathetically, understanding their needs and limitations.
- Develop, lead, and participate in varied activities for residents with a range of interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, games, exercise programs, music sessions, outings, holidays, and special events.
- Encourage residents’ participation and social interaction during group activities.
- Monitor residents’ behaviors and activity outcomes to support positive feedback and engagement.
- Provide individualized attention and plan activities around residents’ needs and interests, honoring their requests.
