About The Position

Heather Heights is hiring a full-time Recreation Aide for 30 hours per week or a part-time Recreation Aide for 20 hours per week. The role includes working every other weekend. The Recreation Aide interacts with residents respectfully and empathetically, plans and leads activities suited to residents’ interests and abilities, encourages participation and social interaction, monitors engagement and activity outcomes, and provides individualized attention and planning based on residents’ needs and requests.

Responsibilities

• Interact with residents and understand their needs and limitations with respect and empathy.
• Develop, lead, and engage residents in activities for a wide range of interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, games, exercise programs, music sessions, outings, holidays, and special events.
• Encourage residents’ participation and social interaction during group activities.
• Monitor residents’ behaviors and activity outcomes, ensuring positive feedback and engagement.
• Provide individual attention and plan activities for residents based on their needs or interests, honoring residents’ requests.
