About The Position

The Recreation Aide monitors and directs students participating in center-sponsored recreational activities on and off center, following government and management directives. The role supports planning and coordinating recreation programming, leads and supervises student activities, helps maintain a safe and clean environment, and provides customer service to students, staff, and other center customers. The position is at the Joliet Job Corps Center in Joliet, Illinois.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Computer proficiency.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the recreation supervisor with planning, implementing, and coordinating a comprehensive, diversified program that encourages voluntary participation.
Organize and supervise student participation in recreation, avocation, and extended-day learning activities.
Conduct recreation and avocation classes and activities.
Chaperone students to center recreation functions.
Help develop recreation activities and plans for new enrollees.
Conduct intergroup recreation activities as part of the diversity program.
Maintain a safe and clean environment by completing daily cleaning duties.
Distribute mail to students daily.
Provide positive, quality customer service to students, staff, and other center customers.
Participate in student employability programs and activities.
Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy.
Promote Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behavior, mentoring students when needed, and monitoring behavior through interventions.
Maintain accountability for students and property, and follow safety practices.
