About The Position

The Village of Wentworth Heights has an exciting opportunity for a Recreation Team Member to join their team. This role is unscheduled part-time and located at 1620 Upper Wentworth St, Hamilton, ON L9B 2W3. The hiring rate for this role is $18.76 per collective agreement/employee association agreement. Requirements

Hold a diploma or degree recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university
Skills Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to support a holistic recreational program
Experience facilitating group activities and programs
Proficiency documenting residents’ participation, engagement and holistic wellbeing in programs and 1:1 activities
Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team
Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of customer service to our residents
Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s well-being and holistic health

Responsibilities

Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team supporting residents in our village
Work every other weekend
Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
