About The Position

The Village of Taunton Mills has an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Part Time Recreation Team Member to join their team on Emma's neighborhood. This role involves working 30 hours bi-weekly, with a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend. The position is permanent part-time, located at 3790 Brock Street North, Whitby, ON, with a start date at the end of August. The hiring rate for this role is $19.81 per collective agreement/employee association agreement. Nice To Haves

Diploma or degree in recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university
Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s well-being and holistic health

Responsibilities

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support a holistic recreational program
Facilitate group activities and programs
Document residents’ participation, engagement and holistic wellbeing in programs and 1:1 activities
Manage time effectively and work in collaboration with a team
Support and embrace the resident-centred social culture and deliver high-quality customer service to residents
Work every other weekend
Display a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members
