About The Position

The Village of Taunton Mills has an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Part Time Recreation Team Member to join their team on Emma's neighborhood. This role involves working 30 hours bi-weekly, with a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend. The position is permanent part-time, located at 3790 Brock Street North, Whitby, ON, with a start date at the end of August. The hiring rate for this role is $19.81 per collective agreement/employee association agreement. Nice To Haves

  • Diploma or degree in recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university
  • Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s well-being and holistic health

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support a holistic recreational program
  • Facilitate group activities and programs
  • Document residents’ participation, engagement and holistic wellbeing in programs and 1:1 activities
  • Manage time effectively and work in collaboration with a team
  • Support and embrace the resident-centred social culture and deliver high-quality customer service to residents
  • Work every other weekend
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members
