Recovery Specialist, 3rd Shift
About The Position
The Recovery Specialist works at The Hart House, a long-term residential recovery home for pregnant and/or parenting women recovering from drug and/or alcohol addiction. The program provides a structured, 24-hour rehabilitative environment and helps residents maintain sobriety and develop the education, skills, and guidance needed to be effective, nurturing parents. Services include individual, family, and group therapy, parenting education, and more. This role is an opportunity to be a positive presence for people struggling with addiction. This is a 40-hour overnight position. The Recovery Specialist helps maintain a safe, structured program environment, monitors and supervises clients, supports admissions, searches client belongings when directed, and completes required documentation. Staff must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Staff must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with the substance use population is preferred.
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license in good standing is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and structure of the program milieu by monitoring client activities.
- Observe and supervise clients and the unit, including conducting 30-minute client well-being checks.
- Conduct telephone admission screenings and other admissions duties.
- Search client belongings on admission and at discharge, or as otherwise directed by a supervisor.
- Complete checklists, shift documentation, and record keeping in a timely manner in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
