About The Position

The Clerk and Recorder’s Office administers both county and municipal functions for the City and County of Denver. The Office administers the City's elections, preserves various records, and makes them available to the public, issues marriage licenses, records land transactions, and oversees foreclosures. The Office's mission is to provide efficient, customer friendly recording and public trustee services, make records available for public inspection, and conduct elections that are accurate, secure, and convenient for voters. Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of full performance office support/clerical experience
  • High attention to detail
  • Enjoys working in a team environment and completing tasks that are repetitive in nature
  • Able to communicate with clients and customers to satisfy their expectations and is committed to quality services
  • Shows understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy, cooperation, concern, and politeness to others and relates well to different people from varied backgrounds and different situations
  • Comfortable in a high volume, highly detailed but fast paced environment
  • Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Three (3) years of full performance office support/clerical work (type and level of an Administrative Support Assistant III).
  • Requires certification or licensure related to area of work at the time of application or by the completion of probation. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment

  • Can fluently speak, write, and read in Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Recording documents for constituents both in person and electronically.
  • Ensure that documents are recorded and indexed with a high degree of accuracy in accordance with statutes.
  • Review marriage applications with constituents, virtually and in-person, issue marriage licenses and record licenses in accordance with Colorado law and statute.
  • Answer phone calls regarding services offered by the recording section and provide assistance to constituents who have questions about the process for obtaining marriage licenses or recording documents.
  • Process documents for recording that are received by mail.
  • Learning new processes and procedures along with completing regularly assigned training in Workday.
  • Perform daily cashiering and cash handling duties including balancing an assigned cash drawer at end of day, while adhering to fiscal accountability rules, and departmental policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested
