About The Position

This position is responsible for performing the general accounting functions of the Bank. The role involves the preparation of accounting and regulatory reports, requiring interaction with Bank management, other employees, and internal/external auditors. It also provides backup for other accounting department functions. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to work effectively in a team and independently with a high degree of accuracy and minimal errors. Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing programs, as well as various financial systems, is necessary.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience (in Accounting or Finance is preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal guidance
  • Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential data
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail is critical

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing/scanning various reconciliations, including investments and fixed assets.
  • Prepares monthly accounting entries.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements and detailed financial package for Executive Board of Directors.
  • Prepares a variety of financial and management reports.
  • Provides materials for internal and external auditors as requested.
  • Assists with implementation of new procedures as needed, to comply with changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists in preparation of FDIC Call Report, CECL and other regulatory reports.
  • Provides backup and assistance for other accounting positions.
  • Perform similar duties as requested or required by supervisor.
