About The Position

The Reclaim Operator safely, effectively, and efficiently operates production lines to meet manufacturing and quality standards. The role involves setting up and running production for various products, maintaining production rates and customer specifications, minimizing waste, and reclaiming scrap for reuse. The operator completes required quality checks and paperwork, monitors machine operation and product quality, and enters production and quality data into the machine computer. The position also includes operating material-handling equipment, performing minor maintenance, keeping work areas and equipment orderly, supporting the Coex operator, and assisting the Maintenance Team with troubleshooting. The operator must follow safety rules and use required personal protective equipment, report hazards and defects, and work cooperatively with team members. Work may be assigned across different production lines and areas based on company needs.

Requirements

Prior manufacturing or similar experience is required.
Mechanical aptitude is required.
Good mathematical skills are required.
Ability to take coaching well and communicate respectfully and effectively with others to promote teamwork.
Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with team members during shift transitions.
Knowledge of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing or warehouse environments, with the ability to follow department and plant rules, regulations, and notices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.
Knowledge and experience with SAP or similar ERP systems, or ability to learn.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required.
Stable work history required.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate production lines for various products while meeting production rates and customer specifications and minimizing waste.
Operate a forklift and pallet jack.
Separate scrap into the appropriate film-type gaylord.
Change blades, filters, and screens while using the correct personal protective equipment.
Perform minor maintenance, including cleaning air filters and completing Total Productive Maintenance and Preventative Maintenance tasks.
Keep work areas clean and tools and equipment in their proper places.
Assist the Coex operator in feeding the Coex grinder.
Follow safety rules and work regulations, use required personal protective equipment, attend meetings, complete safety training, and promptly report hazardous conditions.
Monitor machine operation and check product dimensions and specifications, including color, weight, slits, perforations, widths, and lengths.
Physically and visually inspect products and complete required quality checks, including length/weight checks, vacuum tests, and micrometer checks.
Accurately enter production and quality data into the machine computer and sign off that products meet quality requirements.
Promptly report quality defects to appropriate team members.
Assist the Maintenance Team with troubleshooting when needed.
Maintain good employee relations, follow company policies and procedures, and refer employee relations issues to the Lead, Operations Supervisor, or Plant Manager.
Work on different production lines and in different areas as required by company demand.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
