About The Position

This role is responsible for a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic's front office. The receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients, manage patient records, handle financial transactions, and maintain communication with medical staff and the clinic director.

Requirements

  • Ability to document all patient contact.
  • Ability to call Junior Administrative Assistant by 7:00 a.m. if unable to report to work.
  • Ability to maintain records of clinic charges, revenue and expenses, reporting them daily to the billing area of the clinic.
  • Ability to process check requests to pay all bills in a timely fashion, including payroll.
  • Ability to maintain communication with medical staff and clinic director.
  • Ability to greet and register patients as they enter the clinic.
  • Ability to answer telephones, make appointments, and route other calls, documenting all messages.
  • Ability to assemble an accurate and complete medical chart for new patients and update charts of established patients; ensure all necessary information is included in the chart.
  • Ability to gain copies of insurance cards, drivers’ licenses, etc.
  • Ability to get signatures of consent for treatment, insurance, HIPAA.
  • Ability to pull and re-file medical charts as needed; copy and mail any records requested.
  • Ability to maintain area and equipment; make copies of forms as needed.
  • Ability to perform miscellaneous office duties, including filing and copying.
  • Ability to collect in-office and credit card payments; provide receipts.
  • Ability to enter patient information and financial transactions in billing and reports.
  • Ability to balance daily transactions and prepare superbills and money for the billing department.
  • Ability to keep the lobby and reception area neat and orderly.
  • Ability to perform any other duties as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis.
  • Presents strong public relations skills.
  • Maintain a courteous, mature, and friendly disposition at all times.
  • Keeps abreast of changes in policies and laws regarding billing.
  • Follows safety guidelines and policies for DHCHD.
  • Ability to perform any other assignments as assigned by clinic director.
