About The Position

Under the supervision of a licensed funeral director, the Receptionist assists with office duties and greets and directs guests during funeral services, memorials, or visitations at the funeral home. This role is crucial in providing support to families during difficult times and maintaining a welcoming environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Computer experience needed.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to follow directives.
  • Overall positive attitude toward others.
  • Good verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate understanding and ability to deal with those that are grieving.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to clearly express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, and to receive detailed information through verbal communications, with or without correction.
  • Clarity of vision at various distances, with or without correction; color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.

  • Additional training will be provided by the funeral home and Denver Roller Inc.
  • Computer experience level based on job requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and directing guests at the funeral home during services and/or visitations.
  • Answering the telephone in accordance with company policy.
  • Accommodating the needs of the family during visitations.
  • Assisting families during arrangement conferences.
  • Assisting with office tasks related to funeral services, including computer use.
  • Keeping the funeral home neat and clean.
  • Attending scheduled staff meetings.
  • Performing other duties as deemed necessary by the funeral director in charge and funeral home manager.
  • Being available to work in more than one location.
