About The Position

The incumbent will provide overall supervision to ensure that all operational goals are met, including, but not limited to, budget expectations, inventory accuracy, order fill percentage, case fill percentage, productivity, proper rotation of ingredients, and accuracy of receiving items physically and systematically. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that training requirements are defined for all positions related to food safety and quality within their area of responsibility. Direct reports must be trained to complete work assignments, evaluated for effectiveness, documented, and deemed competent. When gaps are identified, immediate corrective action must be taken, including retraining, coaching, and/or disciplinary actions, all of which must be documented. Work assignments must be communicated to associates. When external experts are needed, records of agreement or contracts defining their responsibility and authority must be maintained, along with records of their appropriate education, training, skills, and experience. New hire orientation must be conducted, and a training matrix developed for each area of responsibility. All elements listed in PROC 7.2 must be enforced. The incumbent must understand the Food Safety Statement, complete required training, perform work assignments in accordance with training, and display an acceptable level of competency with all Quality Assurance/Safety/Security policies and training requirements. Areas of food safety training include, but are not limited to, GMP, Food Safety Plan, Listeria, Food Safety and Quality Statement, FSSC 22000/Global Food Safety Policy/Food Safety Goals, Visitor/Food/Site Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Bloodborne Pathogens. Additional items include Inbound/Outbound trailer and load inspections, FIFO/FEFO, Procedures and Inbound/Outbound Seal Procedure. The individual must also request additional and/or refresher training if they feel it is needed to effectively fulfill requirements in specific areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain records of agreements or contracts with external experts for food safety development, implementation, operation, or assessment.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and develop a training matrix for each area of responsibility.
  • Enforce all elements listed in PROC 7.2.
  • Understand the Food Safety Statement, complete required training, perform work assignments in accordance with training, and display competency with Quality Assurance/Safety/Security policies.
  • Request additional and/or refresher training if needed.
  • Effectively communicate with Production, QA, Scheduling, Purchasing, Transportation, and Customer Service.
  • Address performance issues in a timely manner using consistent and company-backed disciplinary methodology.
  • Provide training to warehouse associates in areas such as SOPs, job-specific procedures, and correct documentation.
  • Monitor and maintain proper rotation of raw product, finished goods, and placement of aged product.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, Housekeeping, and all other FE policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by training personnel on safety issues, conducting safety huddles, completing safety accident and/or incident reports, and recognizing and correcting unsafe conditions or acts.
  • Complete and analyze departmental performance measurements.
  • Lead, coordinate, and direct the daily activities of shift personnel engaged in the shipping and receiving of both raw product and finished goods.
  • Create and maintain work schedules for all warehouse associates.
  • Ensure employees are taking their scheduled breaks/lunches and finishing their shift on time.
  • Ensure accurate and timely picking and loading of customer orders by coordinating efforts between clerks, selectors, drivers, and carriers.
  • Maintain equipment viability and communicate with appropriate vendors for parts/repair.
  • Interview and screen potential warehouse associates in terms of experience and aptitude with operation required power equipment.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
  • Communicate and monitor work performance of clerks, forklift drivers, leads, and yard drivers.
  • Ensure regular and reliable attendance.
