About The Position

The incumbent will provide overall supervision to ensure that all operational goals are met, including, but not limited to, budget expectations, inventory accuracy, order fill percentage, case fill percentage, productivity, proper rotation of ingredients, and accuracy of receiving items physically and systematically. The schedule for this position is Monday to Saturday, 3:30 pm to 2:30 am. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that training requirements for food safety and quality are met for all positions within their area of responsibility. Direct reports must be trained, evaluated for effectiveness, and documented as competent. Corrective actions, including retraining, coaching, and disciplinary actions, must be taken promptly and documented when gaps are identified. Work assignments must be communicated to associates. Records of agreements or contracts with external experts for food safety development, implementation, operation, or assessment must be maintained, along with records of their qualifications. A new hire orientation and a training matrix for each area of responsibility are required. All elements listed in PROC 7.2 must be enforced. Individuals must understand the Food Safety Statement, complete required training, perform work assignments in accordance with training, and display competency in Quality Assurance/Safety/Security policies and training requirements. Food safety training areas include GMP, Food Safety Plan, Listeria, Food Safety and Quality Statement, FSSC 22000/Global Food Safety Policy/Food Safety Goals, Visitor/Food/Site Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Bloodborne Pathogens. Additional items include inbound/outbound trailer and load inspections, FIFO/FEFO, and Inbound/Outbound Seal Procedures. Individuals must also request additional or refresher training if needed to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Train direct reports, evaluate their effectiveness, and document their competency.
  • Take immediate corrective action, including retraining, coaching, and disciplinary actions, when food safety gaps are identified.
  • Communicate work assignments to associates.
  • Maintain records of agreements or contracts with external experts for food safety development, implementation, operation, or assessment, along with their qualifications.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and develop a training matrix for each area of responsibility.
  • Enforce all elements listed in PROC 7.2.
  • Ensure individuals understand the Food Safety Statement, complete required training, and perform work assignments competently.
  • Effectively communicate with Production, QA, Scheduling, Purchasing, Transportation, and Customer Service.
  • Address performance issues in a timely manner using consistent disciplinary methodology.
  • Provide training to warehouse associates on SOPs, job-specific procedures, and correct documentation.
  • Monitor and maintain proper rotation of raw product and finished goods, and placement of aged product.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, Housekeeping, and all other FE policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by training personnel on safety issues, conducting safety huddles, completing safety accident/incident reports, and recognizing/correcting unsafe conditions or acts.
  • Complete and analyze departmental performance measurements.
  • Lead, coordinate, and direct daily activities of shift personnel engaged in shipping and receiving.
  • Create and maintain work schedules for all warehouse associates.
  • Ensure employees are taking scheduled breaks/lunches and finishing their shifts on time.
  • Ensure accurate and timely picking and loading of customer orders.
  • Maintain equipment viability and communicate with vendors for parts/repair.
  • Interview and screen potential warehouse associates for experience and aptitude with power equipment.
  • Communicate and monitor work performance of clerks, forklift drivers, leads, and yard drivers.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
